Another successful SCCBIG event is in the books.
The March 2019 Meetup featured an eclectic group of presenters and vendor tables, as well as attendees hailing from all corners of the cannabis industry. If you weren’t able to make it, or if you’re just looking to review what you heard at the event, this article is for you!
Like always, Sugar Stoned was set up and giving away free goodies. They also provided some excellent products for our raffle giveaway! Going forward, we are looking for more items to give away, so if your company creates a legal product that you’d like to give away at our event, please get in touch.
The event featured speakers from a few types of laboratories. Encore Labs, which provides compliance testing, came to our event to speak about the process that cannabis goes through at their laboratory to ensure it is legally compliant. This process includes testing for pesticides, heavy metals, pathogens and potency. Node Labs, alternatively, performs tissue culture cloning, and enables cultivators to preserve and replicate their plant’s genetics.
Webjoint and L.A. Creative Technologies also spoke at the event about their technology services. Webjoint creates delivery and retail point-of-sale software, and L.A. Creative Technologies assists companies with cyber-security. Moving forward, L.A. Creative Technologies will be assisting business owners in protecting customer data, as new laws go into effect requiring cannabis companies to do so.
Finally, there was a speaker from Cannabis Financial Advisory Solutions discussing the importance of tax planning, a speaker from Rosano Partners presenting available properties, and a speaker from Prime My Body, a network marketing company specializing in CBD products.
Like any SCCBIG event, there were businesses set up around the room, presenting their products and fielding questions. These vendor tables included Sugar Stoned, Roots and Budz, Arthur A. Stevens Insurance Services, Encore Labs, L.A. Creative Technologies, Terpen and Prime My Body.
These events are great opportunities to network, learn about cannabis and find opportunities in the industry.
Our next event is on Saturday, April 20th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm. This event will focus on making edibles, rolling cannabis and celebrating 4/20.
We hope to see you there!
